Teri Tom

Teri Tom writes Black Belt’s monthly Jeet Kune Do Source column. Tom is the only female jeet kune do instructor who trained under first-generation Bruce Lee student Ted Wong.  She is a board member of the Bruce Lee Foundation and is the author of The Straight Lead: The Core of Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do.  Her second book, Jeet Kune Do: The State of Art, will be released in late 2008.

Tom has a bachelor’s degree in communications from UCLA and a master’s degree in nutritional science from California State University, Los Angeles. She is a registered dietitian who specializes in sports nutrition, and she earned her personal-training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her third book, Bulletproof Nutrition, will be published in 2009.
