Benjamin Paris

Black Belt contributor Benjamin Paris has studied traditional taekwondo for 30 years, currently holding the rank of sixth dan. He is one of the senior students of grandmaster S. Henry Cho, pioneer of American martial arts and a Black Belt Hall of Fame member.

As a tournament competitor, Paris has won multiple grand championships, including victories in forms and fighting. As a judge, he is often called on to officiate in the most senior divisions. Paris also serves as the coordinator for Cho's All American Open.

Paris has performed demonstrations on cable television, in schools and in Brooklyn’s 5th Avenue Fair. He was also featured in a Discover magazine article on The Physics of Karate. He currently teaches students of all ages at the Westchester Tae Kwon Do Academy in Port Chester, New York.
