Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that teaches a smaller person how to defend against a larger adversary by using leverage and proper technique. At the top of the BJJ list is the Gracie family, which is why we have exclusive behind-the-scenes videos of Kyra Gracie and Rorion Gracie (Black Belt’s 2006 Instructor of the Year), an official Gracie Jiu-jitsu Academy video tour, and Ralek Gracie demonstrating and explaining several BJJ techniques.
Winner of every major BJJ title and competition in Brazil from 1982 to 1999 and nephew of BJJ co-founder Carlos Gracie, Jean Jacques Machado demonstrates several BJJ classic escape techniques, including the collar choke, kimura, inverted armbar, knee-on-stomach collar choke, choke, armbar and triangle. His brother John Machado appears in several BJJ videos, as well. John Machado was also an adviser on a series of Israeli kapap face-to-face combat features.
Other notable BJJ videos showcase grappling skills, BJJ techniques, photo shoots and other BJJ strategies from Gokor Chivichyan, B.J. Penn, Mac Danzig, Nick Diaz, Matt Larsen, and Renato Magno.
