In 2006, Black Belt contributor Daniel C. Docto used his love of muay Thai as motivation to move to Thailand, where he provides English-language commentary for kickboxing matches. Before the move, he was a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, a correction’s officer at San Quentin State Prison in California, a state kickboxing champion and the owner of one of the first muay Thai schools in Northern California.
