Danny Dring

Black Belt contributor Danny Dring holds a seventh-degree degree black belt in taekwondo, jujutsu and Bill Wallace's Fighting Systems, a sixth-degree black belt in Joe Lewis Fighting Systems, and a third-degree in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

As a competitor, Dring's career highlights include six international gold medals and two international silver medals in taekwondo. He is a four-time national circuit champion for the United States Taekwondo Federation and a five-time open-circuit state champion. He also competed in kickboxing on ESPN’s Professional Karate Association series and earned a winning record.

As a coach, Dring has produced world champions and professional fighters in kickboxing and mixed martial arts. He has actively promoted kickboxing and MMA events. He also has served on the Arkansas State Athletic Commission (the boxing, kickboxing and MMA regulatory body) as a commissioner.

Dring is a certified defensive-tactics instructor and certified pistol instructor in Arkansas. He has served as a reserve deputy for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office since 1993.
