Larry Wick began his training in the martial arts more than 40 years ago. Wick, a veteran instructor and high-ranked tang soo do black belt, sits on the World Tang Soo Do Karate Association board of directors. He is ranked as a fifth-dan international instructor. Wick has been teaching in Fairbanks, Alaska, for more than 25 years.

He is the creator of a program called Wicks Body Logic, which addresses the mental and physical concepts of movement that are used in everyday life. The purpose of the program is to maximize strength and promote safety in daily activities.

In 1992 he created and produced his first self-defense program called Tactical Street Fighting Survival. In 2002, after 10 years of intense training and testing, Wick created Split Second Survival, a gun and knife self-defense program for citizens, military and law enforcement.

His current project is called Res-pect, which is an acronym for Restraint Elimination System - Practical Effective Control Techniques. Res-pect is being developed for youth facilities, hospital security, schools and autistic programs.
