Black Belt
contributor and author Lito Angeles has been a Southern California-based  police officer for almost 20 years. The chief U.S. instructor for Geoff Thompson’s Real Combat System, he has practiced and taught martial arts and self-defense for more than 30 years. Angeles has studied shorin-ryu karate, wrestling, boxing, jeet kune do, escrima, kali, savate, pentjak silat, muay Thai, krav maga and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Angeles collaborated with Black Belt Books to produce Fight Night! The Thinking Fan's Guide to Mixed Martial Arts. The book breaks down the essential bread-and-butter terms and techniques that fuel the action in MMA.
