Black Belt contributing writer Lori Hoeck started her martial arts training in 1981 and has a second-degree black belt in tang soo do and a third-degree black belt in taekwondo. Hoeck first taught tang soo do  through the Colorado Mountain College in the late ’80s. In recent years, she's served as a senior instructor in southern Colorado. A freelance writer and photographer, Hoeck was a reporter and columnist for her local paper, has written for national magazines and taken thousands of martial arts photographs. She currently writes a blog about her journey of personal growth and transformation at http://spaceagesage.wordpress.com.
