Born and raised in Edmonton, Canada, Vuong earned a journalism degree from California State University, Fullerton, and has been writing film criticism since his late teens. His list of celebrity interviews include Jet Li and Tom Cruise. Vuong holds a black sash in lai chung chuan fa and a black belt in kenpo karate. He's formally studied tai chi chuan and northern Shaolin chuan fa. This martial arts junkie also has dabbled in aikido, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, jeet kune do, kali, kickboxing, kuntao silat, pentjak silat and wing chun.
