Hwa rang do
Studying hwa rang do will help bring balance and harmony to your life. The Korean art is based on Taoism, an ancient philosophy that emphasizes the complementary yet contrary nature of opposites. This duality also lies within the name of hwa rang do. “Hwa,” as a flower, symbolizes yin (soft and delicate), whereas “rang” represents yang (hard and forceful).
While hwa rang do will lead you down the path to higher consciousness, it also teaches you how to overcome the obstacles found in everyday life. Training in hwa rang do not only will prepare you for physical attacks but also will show you how to protect yourself from them without raising a hand. When conflict is unavoidable, you’ll have access to punches, kicks, throws, joint locks and pressure-point strikes—all the tools you’ll need to defend yourself.
