Aikijujutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art that means combat art of divine harmony. It is a form of jujutsu, a system of unarmed fighting and minor weapons techniques used to defeat both armed and unarmed opponents. Aikijujutsu is believed to have originated from sumo wrestling and unarmed sword strikes.

Its foundational style is daito-ryu, which Sokaku Takeda began teaching to the public at the end of the 19th century. Takeda studied other martial arts and incorporated his knowledge and experience into the daito-ryu, which he taught to military officers, police officials and aristocrats. Although he had many students, one of his star pupils was Morihei Uyeshiba, the founder of aikido.
