The January 2001 cover of Black Belt  Cover featured 17–0 professional kickboxing world champion turned MMA and movie star Cung Le.


Le made his mixed martial arts debut at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Gracie in San Jose’s HP Pavilion, knocking out kickboxing rival Mike Altman.


His explosive striking style landed him in the UFC and later helped launch him into Hollywood, where he appeared in several films—including the 2009 action drama Fighting alongside Channing Tatum.
