Two strawweight bouts will give four top contenders a chance to make their best case for being next in line for a shot at the ONE Strawweight MMA World Championship. #2-ranked contender Bokang Masunyane will meet unbeaten Keito Yamakita before #3-ranked Hiroba Minowa goes toe-to-toe with #4-ranked Gustavo Balart. The two strawweight bouts are a perfect showcase for the exciting division and could give way to creating the next title challenger.

Contenders will also take to the ring in the flyweight division. #2-ranked flyweight MMA contender Danny Kingad will square off against #4-ranked Yuya Wakamatsu. After a brief setback in 2022, Wakamatsu got back in the win column in a big way this past July with a TKO win over Xie Wei. But toppling Kingad could prove difficult after the Filipino’s impressive showing against Eko Roni Saputra in February.

The two contenders will try to impress and put ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Demetrious Johnson on notice.

In the fourth bout made official by the promotion, atomweight warriors Itsuki Hirata and Ayaka Miura will try to show out in front of their home crowd to position themselves as threats to ONE Atomweight MMA World Champion Stamp Fairtex. Miura is coming off an impressive win over Meng Bo at ONE Fight Night 16. However, Hirata is hoping to steal her thunder and get back in the win column to rejoin the title chase.

ONE 165 will air live from Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, January 28.
