ONE Friday Fights 66 went down inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Friday, June 7. The 12-bout event was filled with top-notch martial arts action.
Akram Hamidi showed his technical prowess in the main event with a swift first-round TKO win over Kongchai Chanaidonmueang. Hamidi dropped Kongchai with a brilliant left. Although his opponent met the referee's count, the pressure when the bout resumed was too much as Hamidi fired away tirelessly until the stoppage came.
Kaotaem Fairtex was all about the knockdowns in his match against Wanpadej Looksuan. After the first knockdown, Kaotaem went all out, seeking the finish. To his credit, Wanpadej survived as long as he could, but the final knockdown in the second round signaled the end.
Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri may have gotten rocked early in his bout against Mavlud Tifiyev, but the Thai athlete rebounded with an onslaught of punches to his opponent's body. Tifiyev tried to block the shots, but Yod-IQ snuck multiple through until Tifiyev fell. Yod-IQ won as his opponent could not meet the referee's count and closed the show's first half in style.
Miao Aoqi was on point and put Shingo Shibata away in the second round. Shibata was tough to rise from multiple knockdowns, but Miao was simply too much as he never relented. Miao's final knockdown forced the referee to wave off the action and netted the Chinese star a big win in Bangkok.
MMA action started the night with a bang with two first-round TKO finishes. In the opening contest, Torepchi Dongak bested Hiroto Masuda before Evgenii Antonov kept the finishes rolling by elbowing Islam Kukaev before referee Herb Dean stopped the action.
