Lumpinee Stadium is set for another fun evening on Friday, July 19, with ONE Friday Fights 71.
This time, the weekly event series will be headlined by a 116-pound Muay Thai catchweight barnburner between Songchainoi Kiatsongrit and Rak Erawan.
The two first met at ONE Friday Fights 41, where Songchainoi earned a six-figure contract with ONE Championship with his victory. Two early knockdowns were not enough to completely secure the win, as he was on the receiving end of a knockdown in the second frame from Rak.
In the final frame, Songchainoi found his groove again and got his hand raised by unanimous decision. However, the closely contested battle left a lot to be desired for his counterpart.
Since dropping that match, Rak posted back-to-back victories to move his ONE record to 4-1. The Thai athlete is ready to level the score against his rival and show he is very much his equal on the global stage.
Silangern Lanna Waterside will make his promotional debut in the co-main event against Petlampun Muadablampang in a 128-pound catchweight Muay Thai matchup.
Petlampun has been perfect in his ONE run thus far, with a perfect 4-0 record. However, Silangern hopes to build upon his regional success with a massive win on the global stage.
Superball Wankhongohm MBK will take his 3-0 ONE record into a 142-pound catchweight affair against Ilyas Musaev.
The “art of eight limbs” will be on full display as both men try to send a message with highlight-reel strikes that they deserve more in the latter part of the year.
