The vibrant city of Seattle, Washington, known for the tech revolution and outdoor lifestyle has another location to be proud of--Seattle Wu Shu. This training facility is located in Seattle's best-kept secret neighborhood, West Seattle, situated just to the southwest of Downtown.

Founded in 1991 as the Inner Concepts Martial Arts, the school pivoted to Seattle Wun Hop Kuen Do, eventually becoming Seattle Wu Shu in 2007 by founder and Co-Chief instructor Restita DeJesus.

A serial student of the arts, she has also diligently trained in Kyu-do Archery, Doces Pares Eskrima, Wushu, and Tai Chi focusing on Chen, and Yang style, as well as northern and southern fist. In early 2020, the school brought on World Champion Kathy Long who settled in Seattle and began a legacy of teaching kickboxing and Kung Fu San Soo. Long teaches her art form with a strong emphasis on self-defense, an art form that aligns with the school’s philosophy.

All of our classes are constantly growing, said Dejesus. Having Kathy is such an honor as she brings such a depth of knowledge and experience to her teaching. Everyone is so excited she has made the Pacific Northwest her home!
