Here are the most recent UFC rankings updates for all divisions. See which fighters have risen and fallen following a welterweight showdown at the APEX, and which positions are at stake for UFC 306: O’Malley vs Dvalishvili.
Changes were observed in seven divisions, including men's pound-for-pound, flyweight, featherweight, and welterweight, as well as women's pound-for-pound, flyweight, and bantamweight categories. Here are the updated UFC rankings.
Men’s Pound-For-Pound
Israel Adesanya, the former middleweight champion, dropped out of the rankings, resulting in bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling moving in and taking the No. 15 spot.
Flyweight
A last-minute flyweight fight between Matt Schnell and Cody Durden led to changes in the 125-pound division. Tagir Ulanbekov climbed to No. 11, surpassing Bruno Silva at No. 12. Durden's victory over Schnell elevated him to No. 13, while Schnell descended three places to No. 14. Asu Almabayev also dropped one spot to No. 15.
Featherweight
Prior to UFC 306, Bryce Mitchell rose to No. 12, while Diego Lopes slipped to No. 13.
Welterweight
Philadelphia's Sean Brady claimed a significant victory over former title contender Gilbert Burns, propelling him to No. 6 in the rankings, with Burns moving down to No. 8. Kevin Holland entered the rankings at No. 15.
Women’s Pound-For-Pound
Kayla Harrison advanced to No. 11, displacing Virna Jandiroba to No. 12. Following her recent defeat, Jéssica Andrade fell two places to No. 13, allowing Natalia Silva to debut at No. 14. Amanda Lemos rounded off the rankings at No. 15.
Women’s Flyweight
After her victory over Andrade, Silva climbed two positions to No. 6, while Andrade descended to No. 8.
Women’s Bantamweight
Just before her fight at UFC 306, Norma Dumont rose to No. 8, causing Karol Rosa to drop to No. 9. Julia Avila now holds the No. 10 spot, with Germaine De Randamie moving up to No. 13. Chelsea Chandler now sits at No. 14, and Ailin Perez entered the rankings at No. 15.
Looking Forward to UFC 306: O’Malley vs Dvalishvili
Heading into Saturday’s event at Sphere in Las Vegas, there is a lot at stake.
Bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley will defend his title against No. 1 contender Merab Dvalishvili. O’Malley aims to secure his title defense following a dominant victory over Marlon “Chito” Vera earlier this year in Miami. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili, who is on a 10-fight win streak, is coming off a win against Henry Cejudo in February.
In the co-main event, flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko will settle their trilogy. Grasso claimed the belt by defeating Shevchenko at UFC 285 last March. After their draw in September at the Noche UFC event, it was only logical to have a trilogy fight to determine the ultimate winner.
Originally scheduled for UFC 303 in June, the featherweight matchup between Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes was canceled due to an issue on Ortega's side. Lopes stepped in last minute to face Dan Ige. Finally, the two will now face each other, with Lopes aiming to defeat Ortega and break into the Top 5.
In the featured prelim, No. 5 Irene Aldana will take on No. 8 Norma Dumont. With the bantamweight title fight set for next month in Salt Lake, this bout could determine a contender to face the winner.
