ONE Friday Fights got off to an astonishing start inside Lumpinee Stadium for ONE Friday Fights 74 on August 9.
The first eight matches all ended by KO/TKO.
Although there was no finish, the evening’s main event delivered a thrilling three-round cavalcade of action as Parham Gheirati kept his ONE Championship record perfect Yodphupa Petkiatpet.
The 20-year-old Iranian knocked down Yodphupa in the first and third rounds to take a commanding decision victory, but the Thai athlete showed heart by rallying in the second frame.
In one of the night's biggest highlights, Dzhokhar Eskiev needed only 15 seconds to put away Ilimbek Akylbek Uulu. Akylbek Uulu caught a kick but was soon met with a counter left that sent him to the mat. A few follow-up shots on the ground later, Eskiev got the win to start his tenure off on the right foot.
When it comes to impactful debuts, Ibragim Abdulmedzhidov threw his name in the hat with a second-round KO against Yamin PK Saenchai. Abdulmedzhidov launched a haymaker of a right hand that found its target and Yamin dropped immediately. The finish was an instant impression for the Russian who will try to keep the momentum rolling in his next outing.
Those matches were still just an appetizer for the remainder of the card. ONE Friday Fights 74 continued to show all the qualities that make martial arts so incredible.
