Lumpinee Stadium hosted the latest edition of ONE Friday Fights on Friday, July 26. ONE Championship brought 11 exciting martial arts matchups to the table. Here are the Full Results of ONE Friday Fights 72.
Kongsuk Fairtex and Joachim Ouraghi battled for the full nine minutes in the evening’s main event. The Lumpinee Stadium crowd was roaring with every strike thrown. After the final bell, the judges awarded the match to Kongsuk. The entertaining battle capped off a fun night in Bangkok and moved Kongsuk another step closer to a six-figure contract.
It seemed like a feeling-out process between Petnamkhong Mongkolpet and Lookkwan Sujeebameekiew was going on, but a picture-perfect right hand from Petnamkhong zipped down the middle and ended the bout. It was an example of patience paying off, as Petnamkhong never got in a hurry. The highlight-reel finish came at the 2:48 mark of the first round.
Beybulat Isaev got the first-round TKO win over Alex Roberts, but not in the way he expected. The two clinched in the corner, and as they moved, Roberts suffered an injury to his leg and dropped to the mat. He was unable to stand, and the match was called, awarding Isaev a victory.
Freddie Haggerty took his brother Jonathan’s words to heart as he exploded for a first-round knockout over Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang right before the bell. However, it was not easy. The two exchanged knockdowns in the round and were on a level playing field. That all changed with one right hand as Haggerty flattened Kaichon and picked up another big win.
ONE Friday Fights 72 opened up with a lightweight submission grappling match, and Craig Hutchinson surprised Banpot Lertthaisong inside of two minutes. Hutchinson slyly dropped to the mat while pulling Banpot down with an armbar. It was locked in, and Banpot had to tap immediately.
